Big news from our corner of the sky! Project AERA is thrilled to announce an official partnership with DWARFLAB, one of the most innovative teams in “astrophotography for everyone.” The real headline? The AERA team now has the brand new DWARF 3 smart telescope, a true investigative powerhouse, at our fingertips.
Why DWARF 3? Why Now?
The DWARF 3 isn’t just another telescope. It’s a compact, advanced, and (let’s be honest) pretty cool machine that brings cutting-edge sky-watching and documentation to our fieldwork, no PhD in astronomy required. With high-resolution imaging, automated object tracking, and a user-friendly app, we can now record the night sky (and much more) faster and better than ever.
DWARFLAB’s mission to “bring the cosmos closer to everyone” matches our promise to turn curious stargazers into real investigators. By teaming up, we’re not just collecting better data, we’re lowering the barrier for anyone to join the quest for answers.
What Does This Mean for AERA and the Community?
Better documentation: Crystal-clear photos and video, easier tracking, and more reliable records of aerial events.
Field portability: The DWARF 3’s design means setup anywhere, backyard, backcountry, or unexpected sighting on the go.
True accessibility: If you can use a smartphone, you can use the DWARF 3 (and now you can come learn with us).
We believe this partnership will help us democratize sky investigation: making it easier for anyone to contribute, learn, and get answers about the unusual.
What’s Next?
We’ll soon be sharing our first nights out with the DWARF 3, from Milky Way time-lapses to hands-on training events. If you’re curious about what this tech can do (or want to try it yourself at an event), stay tuned for field reports, photos, and maybe even a few out-of-this-world surprises.
A massive thank you to DWARFLAB (and especially Sue) for believing in our mission and giving us this opportunity. Here’s to clearer skies, and clearer answers, for everyone.
Got questions about the new gear? Want to join AERA for a field session? Drop us a line, we’d love to share this next step with you!
